About me

Mutya ng Dabaw 1997 Llewelyn Muriel Austria-del Rosario is stuck with the nickname Jambie, the feminine version of her Dad’s nickname Jambo, having come from a long lineage of jumbo babies and given the long name which qualifies for a tongue twister.

Jambie spent over two decades harnessing her skills in industrial-organizational psychology as a human resources management professional in various companies such as the largest retail establishment in the country, SM Shopping Center Management Corporation, the telecommunications giant, Globe Telecom and the largest narrow vein gold mining company in the Philippines, Philsaga Mining Corporation. During her stint in Globe, she was the President of the Ayala Business Club and the Vice-Chairman for the Children’s Hour in Davao City. She is currently the Corporate HR Director for the Marsman Drysdale Group.

She is a Certified HR Professional from the International Federation of Professional Managers and was recently conferred the rank of Associate Fellow by the Accreditation Council of the Philippine Society of Fellows in People Management. Although she is a licensed Medical Technologist from San Pedro College, she also holds a Master’s Degree in Industrial and Organizational Psychology from the Ateneo de Davao University.

As a trainer and public speaker, she pursued and was given the Competent Communicator Award by Toastmasters International after completing the competency requirements for its communication track. She is a charter member of the Davao Noontime Toastmasters Club.

As part of her advocacy to bring psychology into mainstream consciousness, the Psych Siren was born. It is a column in Mindanao Times which comes out every first Thursday of the month and is dedicated to bringing psychology into the forefront of public awareness by serving as a siren, an alarm bell, to signal the importance of psychology in everyday life. This is also the reason why this blog came into being. In addition, she is working on a novel called The Constellation of Chaos, which is a testament to the tenacity of the human spirit.

As a pantheist, she believes in sending good juju all around.

She lives by her personal creed of pursuing integrity, excellence and a life beyond reproach.

She is happily married to Manolo, who has earned the moniker “my Manolet” for being a devoted and loving husband. Together they have an adorable, well-adjusted daughter named Brie in part due to her parents’ upbringing but also because she is a gentle, tenacious, old soul who loves learning and adventure.
